Oregon Bottom Fish

The Pacific Ocean is a cornacopia of different species of fish to catch. Bottom Fish i.e., fish that live close to the bottom, are one of the most favorite fish to catch.

The technique to catch bottom fish is prettly basic, drop your jig or bait of the side of the boat and then move it a little, when something strikes then set the hook.

There are many different types of bottom fish but one of the most sought after is the Lingcod. Lingcod can weigh up to 50 pounds are a very ugle preditory fish … but make great fish and chips!

Link cod will give you a good tussel while at the bottom of the ocean but tend to wear out a bit as you get them closer to the boat.

Some Lingcod have blue meat. This is due to their diet and the meat will turn white when you cook it.
